Areas Of Practice
Kelly N-L. Scurry is an Associate in the firm’s Jacksonville office, practicing remotely from South Florida. Mr. Scurry’s practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on the defense of first party property claims.
He has experience litigating premises liability, automotive/personal injury protection litigation, transportation litigation, appeals, coverage issues, fraud, and general liability litigation. He has also represented multiple insurers in personal injury protection matters.
Mr. Scurry graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and History and a certificate in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics. While at Duke he had the opportunity to study abroad at Oxford University and to work for a nongovernmental organization in Cape Town, South Africa.
He matriculated to the University of Florida Levin College of Law and received a Juris Doctor degree with a certificate in International & Comparative Law. During law school he studied international business law at the University of Montpelier in France.
While in law school, Mr. Scurry served as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law. During his tenure as Editor-in-Chief, he arranged for the Journal to serve as the exclusive publisher of all articles and presentations from an international conference co-hosted by the University of Florida and the University of Havana. Mr. Scurry was a member of the Federal Indian Law Moot Court Team and the International Commercial Arbitration Moot program. He also served as an Associate Justice of the UF Supreme Court and a member of Florida Blue Key. Further, Mr. Scurry clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
In addition, he is admitted to the Florida Bar, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, tae kwon do, fishing, and rooting for the Duke Blue Devils and the Florida Gators.
