May 31, 2024 by boydjenerette on News
Boyd & Jenerette partners Kelly L. Gillis, C.J. Gomes, and Pamela J. Nelson will be presenting at the FDLA's 27th Annual Florida Liability Claims Conference. The FLCC draws insurance defense attorneys and claims professionals from around the state and offers our members excellent networking opportunities and timely educational programming presented by experienced attorneys and leading experts.
Kelly L. Gillis, C.J. Gomes, and Pamela J. Nelson will be presenting "Multiple Claimants/Inadequate Limits: "Globals" in the Post-Tort Reform World." March 2023 marked the beginning of substantial changes to the tort law in Florida, including the creation of Florida Statute § 624.155 (6). This new subsection establishes safe harbors for insurers to avoid bad-faith liability when confronted with multiple competing claims which may exceed the policy limits. This presentation will explore what we have learned and encountered thus far in the application of Section 624.155 (6).
The 2024 FDLA Florida Liability Claims Conference will be held at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on June 5-7, 2024. Find more information here.
