Boyd & Jenerette Partner Testifies on Proposed House Bill 1D in House Appropriations Committee Special Session

Boyd & Jenerette Partner Amanda Kidd testified on May 24, 2022 in front of the Florida House’s Appropriations Committee in support of the proposed House Bill 1D which would seek to reform insurance bad faith legislation and require that claimants establish the property insurer breached the policy contract in order to prevail on a claim for extra-contractual damages under Florida’s Bad Faith Statute, F.S. 624.155.

Florida’s Legislature convened beginning on May 23, 2022 in Special Session to consider legislation related to Florida’s property insurance crisis. At the conclusion of public testimony, the committee voted in favor of the proposed bill.
