Boyd & Jenerette is pleased to welcome Associate Attorneys Joanna S. Brunell and Matthew F. Miliano to the firm.

Joanna S. Brunell is an Associate of Boyd & Jenerette, focusing on appellate practice.  Ms. Brunell has clerked for the Honorable Lori S. Rowe and the Honorable Bradford L. Thomas at the Florida First District Court of Appeal.  Before joining the firm, Ms. Brunell was an appellate attorney for the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program, representing the best interests of children in dependency, termination of parental rights, adoption, and related matters.

Joanna graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2015, where she served as a teaching assistant for Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy.  Before law school, Joanna taught English as a foreign language in Tokushima, Japan, and in Madrid, Spain, where she earned a Master’s in Spanish Language, Literature, & Humanities at the Universidad de Alcalá.

In her free time, Joanna enjoys music, cooking, trivia, and spending time with her husband and toddler.

Matthew Miliano is an Associate of Boyd & Jenerette practicing in the Orlando office. His practice focuses on the representation of general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and design professionals in all areas of construction law and litigation.

Prior to the practice of law, Mr. Miliano worked with a prominent Forensic Neuropsychologist conducting neuropsychological examinations for matters in litigation or contested by insurers. This experience provides valuable insight and understanding for the litigation of traumatic brain injury (TBI) claims.

Mr. Miliano began his legal career working on commercial litigation matters and Trust contests. Outside of work he enjoys writing, exercise, and spending time in the great outdoors.
