Meet the Six Boyd & Jenerette Attorneys Licensed in Georgia

J. Patrick Connell

Patrick Connell has successfully litigated a wide range of cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, professional malpractice, products liability and premises liability. He has significant experience handling trucking and automobile accidents, fire investigations and natural gas claims.

Patrick also focuses on land use, planning and zoning law. He assists clients with government permitting issues at the state, local and municipal levels. He serves as General Counsel for the Tourism Leadership Council, the leading trade organization for tourism in the Savannah area.

D. Jay Thaw, Jr.

Jay Thaw is experienced in the defense of a full range of property and casualty claims. He defends insurance companies and their insureds in motor vehicle accidents, and has significant experience defending cases in the trucking, transportation and logistics industries.

He also manages premises and general liability claims, as well as construction-related accidents. In the area of medical malpractice and professional liability claims, he often represents hospitals, physicians, long term care facilities, and nursing homes.

Joshua H. Dorminy

Joshua Dorminy devotes his practice to civil litigation with a focus on auto liability defense as well as bad faith and coverage issues.

Josh is a native of Darien, Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree from Shorter University where he was an All American on the football team. He earned his law degree from the University of Georgia in 2015.

Mark K. Eckels

Mark Eckels defends employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims across Florida and Georgia. His Longshore and Defense Base Act practice extends nationwide.

He handles all facets of workers’ compensation and longshore claims from the initial reporting of an accident and its investigation, through the discovery process to trial, and any appellate proceedings thereafter. Mark is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by The Florida Bar.

Kristen Van der Linde

Kristen Van der Linde focuses on the defense of cases involving trucking or auto liability, premises liability, wrongful death, bad faith, negligent security, and coverage. She frequently lectures on a wide range of topics including adjuster ethics, handling wrongful death claims, and bad faith litigation for continuing educational credit to insurance professionals.

Kristen is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia, and is Board Certified in Civil Trial by The Florida Bar.

Kathryn M. Oughton

Kathryn Oughton is a Partner and Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Property Damage Claims practice area. Her practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on the defense of cases involving first party property claims. Other practice areas include automobile liability, premises liability, wrongful death, and bad faith and coverage issues.

Prior to joining the firm, she worked for a state-wide defense firm where she served as head of the civil litigation department of the Jacksonville office focusing on auto and trucking negligence, wrongful death, and premises liability.
