Jacob T. Barton is an associate attorney with Boyd & Jenerette’s Jacksonville office where he practices construction litigation.
Jacob is a fifth-generation Florida native and graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School in Lakeland, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Legal Studies and Political Science from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2021, and his Juris Doctorate from Liberty University School of Law in 2024.
Prior to law school, Jacob was a legislative staff member in the Florida House of Representatives and later a campaign staff member in Lee County, Florida operating local, state, and federal campaigns. His political background aids his knowledge and understanding of legislation and codes relevant to his practice in the construction sector.
During his time in law school, Jacob was a member of the law school’s competition trial team and the alternative dispute resolution board. As a second-year law student, he competed in the ABA Arbitration Competition. After advancing in the regional tournament, he received an invitation to compete at the ABA National Finals in Chicago, Illinois.
In his free time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and boating.
