During law school, Joe was a member of the Student Legal Education Committee and Vice President of the Christian Legal Society. Joe also served as an Academic Assistant to the foreign LL.M. students. Immediately following his graduation from law school, Joe accepted a position as a Presidential Management Fellow with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Following his work for the Air Force, Joe provided legal representation in relation to Security Clearance Law, Military Discharge Upgrades, and Merit Systems Protection Board cases.
Joe then worked as a Personal Injury Attorney, handling a large caseload of personal injury cases. Subsequently, Joe worked at another firm where a wide variety of legal actions were handled, including divorce, paternity, adoption, and estate planning matters, among others. Joe became very adept at handling difficult clients. Later, Joe decided to return to work for the Federal Government with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as an Equal Opportunity Specialist. At the USDA, Joe was responsible for conducting compliance reviews on colleges, with a primary focus on working with Tribal Colleges and Hispanic-Serving Institutions.
Joe’s background gives him unique insight into Defense Base Act claims, and his experience as a soldier, government employee, and civilian allows him to have multiple beneficial perspectives on matters.
Away from work, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, golfing, and watching football.
