Michael L. Schwebel is a trial attorney and partner in Boyd & Jenerette’s Jacksonville office.  Mr. Schwebel practices in all areas of general litigation, including auto liability, medical and professional malpractice, as well as premises liability.  He has both trial and appellate experience.

Mr. Schwebel has enjoyed a diverse career, trying cases on behalf of both defendants and plaintiffs.   For over a decade Mr. Schwebel defended physicians and hospitals in complex medical malpractice claims, as well as general liability matters.  Mr. Schwebel also spent significant time representing those injured in personal injury matters, including medical malpractice, premises and products liability as well as wrongful death claims.  In addition, Mr. Schwebel handled and tried first party property damage claims.

Mr. Schwebel has been listed in Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” every year from 2013 to 2023. He has received an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which reflects the greatest degree of ability and integrity as recognized by the legal community, including judges and attorneys. Mr. Schwebel is also a Fellow in the prestigious Litigation Counsel of America, which is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society. Membership in the Litigation Counsel of America is limited to 3,500 Fellows, which represents less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellows of the LCA must promote superior advocacy and ethical standards in the practice of law.

Prior to joining Boyd & Jenerette, Mr. Schwebel was a shareholder and partner in a personal injury firm, and on behalf of his clients obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements throughout Florida, including a Top 100 Verdict in the State of Florida for 2019.  Few lawyers have both the trial experience as a defense attorney and a plaintiff lawyer as Mr. Schwebel.
