Boyd & Jenerette is thrilled to announce the promotion of Kelly L. Gillis to Partner. Kelly has been a valuable member of the Boyd & Jenerette team and has consistently proven her work ethic to us and, more importantly, to her clients.

Kelly was hired by Boyd & Jenerette in October of 2013 and practices in the firm’s insurance coverage and bad faith group. Based in the Jacksonville office, Ms. Gillis focuses her practice mainly on complex insurance coverage and bad faith/extra-contractual liability litigation.  She advises clients on claim handling guidelines, assists in responding to Civil Remedy Notices, and negotiates settlements involving allegations of bad faith/extra-contractual liability, including preparing appropriate release documents.  In addition, Ms. Gillis provides coverage opinions on both first- and third-party coverages, takes examinations under oath, prepares reservation of rights and disclaimer correspondence, and prosecutes and defends declaratory judgment actions.  She handles cases throughout the state courts in Florida, as well as all of Florida’s federal districts.

Mrs. Gillis is a member of the Military Spouse JD Network and is passionate about its mission of advocating for licensing accommodations for military spouse attorneys, educating the public about the career challenges faced by military spouses, and encouraging employers to hire military spouses. She is also a mother of two children and enjoys spending her time outdoors and traveling with her family.
