Florida Encourages Health Entities to Expand Telehealth Services

All Florida health insurers, health maintenance organizations, and other health entities are encouraged to broaden patient access to telehealth services under an Informational Memoranda (OIR-20-06M) issued by Florida Office of Insurance Regulation on April 6. Titled “Telehealth and Pharmacy Audit Guidance for Response to COVID-19,” the guidance applies to all health insurers, and other health entities regulated by OIR, and all Pharmacy Benefit Managers registered to do business in Florida. Florida Provides Workers’ Comp Coverage to State Employees Fighting COVID-19

“Frontline state employees” whose duties include fighting COVID-19 and who then become ill will be qualified to receive workers’ compensation coverage for occupational disease pursuant to Section 112.1815, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 440, Florida Statutes. Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued an April 1 directive (2020-05) to the Florida Division of Risk Management outlining the coverage. Administrative Order on COVID-19 Measures for the Florida State Courts

Chief Justice Charles T. Canady of the Florida Supreme Court issued an Administrative Order (Order) on May 4, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Justice Canady previously issued several other administrative orders implementing temporary measures for Florida Courts to follow to ensure that the administration of justice continues. The newest Order “extends, refines, and strengthens” the previously enacted administrative orders.
