Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. is proud to announce the promotion of attorneys Michael Childers, Kansas Gooden and Billie Jo Taylor to Senior Associate.

Michael J. Childers joined Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. in 2012 as an associate in the Firm’s construction department. Mr. Childers focuses his practice on construction law, representing general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, developers, owners, and suppliers in cases involving construction defect, breach of contract, delay, liens/bonds, surety issues, and property damage claims. He is an active member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, where he serves on the Education Committee. Mr. Childers is currently co-teaching Construction Law at Florida Coastal School of Law and has taught various construction and insurance related courses for insurance adjusters.

Kansas R. Gooden joined Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. in 2009 as an associate focusing primarily on appeals, insurance coverage and bad faith/extra-contractual liability litigation. In addition to being promoted to Senior Associate, Kansas was named Practice Group Leader of the Firm’s Appellate Department. Ms. Gooden was selected by Florida Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2011, 2012 and 2013. She is also active in First District Appellate Inn of Court and currently serves as the Vice President of the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel and as the Chair of the Appellate Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Billie Jo Taylor focuses her practice on the defense of cases involving trucking liability, asbestos, negligence and uninsured motorist claims. She was selected by Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” in the area of Personal Injury Defense: General for 2013. Ms. Taylor is very active in supporting her local community; she often helps coordinate charity events for the firm and enjoys participating in runs and volunteering for various organizations such as JALA and various youth sports associations.
