We would like to welcome Kelly Gillis back to the firm as an Associate in our Coverage & Bad Faith Department. Her practice focuses on complex insurance coverage and bad faith, and she also assists insurers with claim evaluation and pre-suit claim resolution. Kelly previously worked as an Associate at Boyd & Jenerette from October 2013 to January 2018, but took some time away from private practice while her husband, a pilot in the U.S. Navy, served overseas. While her husband was overseas, Kelly held down the home front by taking care of their now three-year-old daughter, Reagan, and she welcomed their now seven-month-old son, Bennett.
She also stayed busy by clerking for the Honorable Vincent G. Torpy, Jr. at the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach. She clerked for him following law school and he asked her to return leading up to his retirement. Now that Judge Torpy has retired and her husband has returned home, Kelly and her family have returned to the Jacksonville area.
