Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Update – Industry Notice 163

On January 11, 2018, the Division of Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation, OWCP, U.S. Department of Labor issued Industry Notice 163. The effect is to increase penalties for certain actions or inactions. Please consult the Notice for further details on Industry Notice 163 but be advised that the critical changes include:

              Maximum penalty for late filing of LS-202: $23,426.00

              Penalty for untimely filing of LS-208: $285.00

              Penalty for violation of LHWCA Section 49 anti-discrimination provision: $2,343.00 - $11,712.00
