The Jacksonville Bar Association has once again tapped two of Boyd & Jenerette’s attorneys to serve as leaders of its workers’ compensation section for the coming year. Blake Hood, a partner who served as co-chair of the section last year, and Mark Eckels, a shareholder who heads the firm’s own workers’ compensation department, will co-lead the section for another year. Shareholder Mark Eckels and Partner Linda Farrell are currently serving as co-chairs of the local chapter of the Friends of 440, a statewide charity set up by workers’ compensation practitioners. The charity raises money to provide scholarships to children of those individuals who are involved in the Florida workers’ compensation system, either by working in the system or being the recipient of such benefits. In August of 2007, the charter on a new American Inn of Court was granted, forming an Inn devoted to workers’ compensation. The Inn, named in memory of former Boyd & Jenerette, P.A. partner E. Robert Williams, becomes one of just two Inns throughout the country devoted to preserving high ideals in the practice of workers’ compensation.
