Jane Anderson practices insurance defense litigation focusing primarily on complex federal and state coverage issues and insurer bad faith cases, including appeals. Her experience includes formulating coverage opinions and litigating first and third party coverage and liability issues for auto, property, umbrella, commercial general liability, homeowners, disability, employment practices liability, and professional malpractice policies.

Mark defends employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims across Florida and Georgia. His Longshore and Defense Base Act practice extends nationwide. He handles all facets of workers’ compensation and longshore claims from the initial reporting of an accident and its investigation, through the discovery process to trial, and any appellate proceedings thereafter. Mark is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by The Florida Bar.

Kansas R. Gooden, a Board Certified Appellate Specialist and AV Rated attorney, serves as the firm’s General Counsel and Appellate Practice Group Leader.  Ms. Gooden currently works remotely for the firm in Miami. Through her remote work, she efficiently and cost-effectively serves her client’s needs.

Ms. Gooden has extensive experience handling all types of civil appellate proceedings in the Florida Supreme Court, all Florida District Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  She is often retained in cases at or headed to the Florida Supreme Court or is retained to develop statewide litigation strategy to effectuate change in the common law.  She is one of the only attorneys—and likely the only woman—who has argued back-to-back cases on the same day before the Florida Supreme Court.

Kathryn M. Oughton is a Shareholder and Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Property Damage Claims practice area. Kathryn’s practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on the defense of cases involving first party property claims. Other practice areas include automobile liability, premises liability, wrongful death, and bad faith and coverage issues.

Mr. Samuels concentrates his practice on workers’ compensation disputes in Florida state courts. He also regularly defends claims brought under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act throughout the southeastern United States. Mr. Samuels’ breadth of experience in the employer liability arena allows him to provide practical, in-depth knowledge of the law when counseling employers, manufacturers, insurers, servicing agents, and self-insured entities on a diverse spectrum of employer liability issues. Mr. Samuels has lectured extensively on a wide range of topics in workers’ compensation and longshore forums.

Robert Schrader is a shareholder in the firm and has over 25 years of state and federal litigation experience. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general litigation and trial advocacy. He serves a diverse client base and maintains an active caseload throughout Florida in matters involving premises liability, general liability, automobile personal injury defense, trucking liability, negligent security, wrongful death, and products liability. Mr. Schrader has tried numerous jury and non-jury trials with excellent results and is committed to pursuing effective results for his clients.

Beth-Ann Schulman is a Shareholder and chairs the firm’s Construction Law Group. She is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law. As such, she is an expert in construction law matters involving construction defects, professional liability, property damage, breach of contract, liens and insurance coverage. Ms. Schulman represents general contractors, subcontractors, developers, distributors, manufacturers and design professionals in all areas of construction law in both a litigation and transactional capacity.

Kristen focuses on the defense of cases involving trucking or auto liability, premises liability, wrongful death, asbestos, bad faith, negligent security, and coverage. She frequently lectures on a wide range of topics including adjuster ethics, handling wrongful death claims, and bad faith litigation for continuing educational credit to insurance professionals. Kristen is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia, and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar.
